Here at ACMS, we strive to give back to our community – Arlington and our neighbors. We have 2 charitable funds supporting areas of need:
Sharon McGowan Breast Health Fund (SMBHF) serves to provide funds for breast health to local patients who are uninsured and unable to pay. Through mammograms, diagnostic imaging, biopsies and more, we have provided funding for over one hundred women this year with our partnership at Virginia Hospital Center. Furthermore, we support research studies at Marymount University with the intention to improve early detection and screening in low income, uninsured women.
The ACMS Foundation Scholarship Fund awards local graduating high school students interested in studying medicine or healthcare with a $10,000 scholarship. With increasing costs in higher education, our physicians take an active role in encouraging and supporting students to study in this noble profession.
